Delete your Fovar account

You can delete your Fovar account at any time. Deletion happens straight away and cannot be undone. This page explains how, what is deleted, and which group records are kept and why.

Delete from inside the app

  1. Open Fovar and sign in.
  2. Tap You, then scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
  3. Read the summary of what will be removed, then confirm. You may be asked for optional, anonymous feedback about why you’re leaving.
  4. Your account is deleted and you are signed out immediately.

Can’t sign in, or can’t finish it in the app?

Email support@nbdomains.com from the email address registered to your Fovar account and ask us to delete it. We confirm the request came from you, then delete the account for you. It is exactly the same deletion as the one in the app, with the same results described below.

Before you delete

The app tells you if any of these apply, and what to do:

  • If you are a group’s president, make another member president or close the group first. A group’s money and bank details are tied to its president, so the group can’t be left without one.
  • If your group is on hold, its president and treasurer can’t delete their accounts until the hold is lifted.
  • Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are not cancelled by deleting your account. Cancel them in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Fovar plans paid for on the web are cancelled automatically when you delete.

What is deleted

  • Your login: your email address and password, and any Apple or Google sign-in linked to it.
  • Your profile: your name, phone number, location, photo and organisation details.
  • Your membership and role in every group.
  • The bank accounts you linked to Fovar, your notifications, and the devices registered to receive them.

What is kept, and for how long

Group money records that you appear on are kept for 80 months (6 years and 8 months) from the date of each record:

  • contributions and dues you paid to a group;
  • withdrawal requests you made and approvals you signed;
  • changes to a group’s dues, and cash payments you confirmed.

Why: these are the group’s financial records. Its leaders need them to keep accurate books, and every other member relies on them for protection against fraud, so that nobody can sign money out of a group and then erase who did it.

Who can see them: other members see these records as “Former member”. Only the group’s president and treasurer can see your name on them. Your login, contact details and photo are not kept.
